Zen And Cement is a small studio/workshop situated in Marrickville. Our aim is to produce unique pieces influenced by Japanese and Scandinavian design.
The common denominator in most of our work is cement, often in a combination with wood, copper and sometimes glass.
As one our goals is to be as environmentally friendly as possible, we source our materials to make moulds etc from places like Reverse Garbage and The Bower in Marrickville. The wood we use is either old hardwood from old fence posts or similar offcuts / rejects of unusual timbers from places like Anagote Timbers which happens to be next door to my workshop.
Our range varies from rustic or industrial bowls and pots to more organic pieces like planters and lamps.
Our workshop is in the Stick’nStone community, 30 Carrington Road, Marrickville. If you intend to visit, please call first on 0408742006 to make sure someone is there.
